Favourite genre(s): faux-memoirs (think diary of Adrian mole series) near future sci fi Favourite medium: novels but due to a lack of exposure to most other formats Favourite aspect of fiction: escapism, expressing hard ideas Last piece of fiction I really enjoyed: @kentb ‘s accidental intrigue!! What I'm working on: (last abandoned) a near future sci fi on anti-aging gone wrong What the world of fiction needs: bookshops and cafes for hanging out and reading

Yes! My sense is that a faux memoir is one of the more challenging things to write. To be able to unlock that level of character understanding is a true skill. You've abandoned the anti-aging story?! 😢

Favourite genre(s): science fiction, personal development Favourite medium: novels, shorts, curious about online serial fiction. Favourite aspect of fiction: watching characters grapple, stumble, and sometimes succeed with challenges I don’t much encounter in real life. Last piece of fiction I really enjoyed: Inverted World by Christopher Priest What I'm working on: Shorts I started writing in 2018… What the world of fiction needs: I’ll restrict my comment to sci-fi. Well, there have been all kinds of tastes and tropes for decades, but I’m wondering where sci-fi goes now that we’re living it here on earth without intergalactic time travel but running into resource limits and the growing impact of anthropogenic climate disruption.
