My 11 yo has been watching videos about kidnap, suicide and a lap dancing hairdresser(!) on Snapchat and YouTube shorts. Any suggestions other than removing the apps entirely (she really likes them, and there is plenty of positive content she wants to watch, as well as chats with friends)?

My solution is quite restrictive, tbh. Netflix is okay, youtube only under supervision (the ads are very high on sugar) and no socials. Although I am thinking about FC and maybe insta. And we keep talking about things. Always speak about it. What did you see, how did it make you feel, what do you think about it.

Think the key to this is more supervision and conversation about it. Thanks 1000 $degen

As my son will be going to middle school after summer, this really is something that's really on our minds now. He was doing stuff on NightCafรฉ the other day and got some nice comments. We had to talk about that, of course. He's fortunately quite wise for his age. 1000 $degen
