I'm at a Solana meetup to get the vibe. 

Solana folks believe that Solana is more decentralized. 

Their argument is Base sequencer is centralized and the same for pretty much any other L2. 

Is there some information on this?

TLDR you can have centralized sequencer on a rollup because it inherits the security and censorship resistance of the L1:

You always have the ability to exit back to L1 if sequencer disappears, prevents invalid state transitions (stealing your coins) via proofs (zk and/or optimistic) and you can inherit the censorship resistance of L1 because you can use L1 to force a transaction on the rollup
