imo the main benefit of CDJs is the portability of your sets via USB other than that, a controller / laptop can move the crowd just the same. most sets just come down to loops, tempo shift, beat jumping, and cue points lmk if this is blasphemous

the portability is a massive win! I was just saying this morning that it doesn’t matter what tools you use to move the crowd, only that you read the room and deliver. Most of the time, the dance floor doesn’t notice the difference.
