Mmmhmmm Also with a 14% approval rating, I'm not even sure that represents Chicago's Far Left. Anecdotally, I've only met 2 people who approve of him in 3 months. And isn't this before the $300 mill property tax increase that is now a small $150 mill π π https://x.com/MaryAnnAhernNBC/status/1851387233023995941

I admit I'm a bit divorced from Chicago politics, but I do wonder how much power he can actually wield in an Alderman-dominated city like Chicago. It doesn't seem like a leftist problem, he just seems like a dud. I also didn't care for Emmanuel or Lightfoot. It seems Chicago is just doomed to have mediocre mayors.

A doubt that a far left mayor would want to burden people raising property taxes. He seems more center to me. I met our Alder the other day (trying to get more involved locally) she seems great. She said they (all the alders) are finding ways to not burden the cost on people by raising the property taxes and also to distribute the budget more equitable across the wards. Right now every ward has the same amount of money, regardless how big they are or how many infrastructure issues they have.
