0/ Everyone has to say what’s wrong with Ethereum these days. Here’s my go.

It’s not the protocol.
It’s not other chains.
It’s not the EF.

It’s something deeper. The problem is belief.

1/ We used to believe Ethereum could change the world.

That it could be a better store of value than BTC.

That it could secure the global financial system.
That we’d invent new financial primitives, not just trade leverage.

2/ That we’d build decentralized orgs with real governance.
Not just delegate to the same five organizations.

That we’d build social platforms where users own their audience.
Not just meme casinos with nicer frontends.

3/ From Ethereum’s launch until the release of ChatGPT, this was the frontier.
The place young, ambitious people went to push the world forward.

Now that energy is going elsewhere. Mostly to AI.

5/ Meanwhile the world is breaking.

Trust is collapsing.
Censorship is growing.
No one agrees on what’s true.
And we’ve lost the ability to coordinate.

6/ Ethereum is still our best shot.

A neutral system for global coordination.
Built on open code, not institutions.
Backed by shared belief, not centralized power.

7/ But none of that matters if we don’t believe anymore.

Do we?

Because if we don’t, no one else will and it won't happen.

4/ And many of the loudest voices in crypto today
The ones telling you the problem is something else
Are here to make money. That’s it.

They don’t believe.
