Wild charts of the day. Regardless of the income, American life span is significantly shorter than English life span. What is this about? Healthcare policies of course play a role, but it can't be the only thing if this is happening even at high income levels.

My guess is quality of nutrition & obesity rates, among other things. I would have said work/stress also but Japan/Korea work same/more and have much higher life expectancy (and much lower obesity rates)

I believe the biggest three factors are said to be drug overdoses/deaths of despair, car accidents, and violent crime. One you reach older age, American life expectancy is pretty good by comparison. But it is wild that it even applies to high income levels, so maybe there's more to it.
