Did they poll the hundreds of thousands to millions of kidnapped Ukranians? I'm all about the war ending, but like, the way the left seems OK with the genocide is astonishing. I think it's because it doesn't fit within the paradigm of white supremacist colonialism that has become the de facto map used. I think that also accounts for the silence on the genocide in China, and why capitalists are fully (instead of partially) blamed for Congo and Sahel (Chinese and Russian mining interest plus breadbasket of Africa under different kinds of mines and blockades etc.)

Eastern Congo's crisis deepens with 120+ armed groups battling for mineral-rich territories. Recent violence has escalated, marked by attacks and kidnappings, while Chinese companies and others exploit critical minerals, including illegal mining operations in South Kivu. The interconnected challenges in the Sahel paint a concerning picture: Resource conflicts and weak governance amplify environmental crises. Armed groups thrive in this instability, while climate change acts as a threat multiplier, creating a complex humanitarian situation.

It's kind of tough, these regions are highly unstable and do not even have the communications infrastructure of Gaza. I've cleaned things from think tank articles and human rights organizations, but even there it can be tough to suss out what is biased. Sahel is a train wreck. Colonialism just ended in this past year in some regions as French troops finally left. Prigozhin's paramilitary outfit worked on controlling gold mines and doing that goon work of creating and supporting militias and such, there are links to the RSF. The region is in a long terrible drought, and relied heavily on Ukraine for food. Now, they rely on scraps from here and there. Congo is just straight up brutal, and has been for centuries, maybe even past Leopold IIs unbelievable genocide (Palestine sadly has plenty of precedent, don't believe the hype) there. Now, transnational tech companies rely on the minerals there, mined by slaves held in check by competing warlords and CCP troops and mine owners.
