I happen to be both! Maybe that’s why it’s a lot more tolerable for me.

The flipside of this is that crypto communities are highly conformist & an echo chamber.

I tuned out of crypto after paying attention to it 24/7/365 from 2017-2022 and feel all the better for it.

Unless you’re a distributed systems and mechanism design nerd (or both), most crypto discourse is “number go up”

Sure, crypto has a lot of fraud & grift. But not everything is bad, and admitting that doesn't mean you're saying it's a panacea

Also every domain evolves. The space is wildly different from just a couple of years ago
