I think there is no question Apple has an advantage in hardware. To me the key question is whether a professional CEO can match a founder CEO for pure tenacity on what will need to be a long-term, non-consensus bet.

Not sure if you would consider Tim as a pro CEO, he has been in Apple for a while vs Eric who came into Google? Correct me if I am getting this wrong!

I don’t think tenure is the key question. It’s willingness to make big, non-consensus bets.

Tim Cook would probably rather die than take on any risky bets. If it’s Tim Cook vs Zuck, Zuck will wipe the floor with Cook regardless of what kind of hardware advantage Apple has. Cook’s the guy you hire to keep the ship on course, not to explore new waters.
