A review comparing the last two chicken sandwiches I ate, one from Great White in Venice, CA and the other the famous Popeyes chicken…

The sandwich from Great White is better in every way but a particular stand out differentiation is that it seems it was made with cleaner oil. Like maybe that Popeyes oil hasn’t been changed in a while.

i had the exact same impression last time i was at popeyes. the oil was super funky. maybe that's just the way it is and i'd forgotten but it was inedible

yea if I give them the benefit of the doubt it might just be that the oil is fresh but just so much chicken gets cooked in it but I dunno.

we have a town owned burger and fry stand at one of the parks here.

they are only open seasonally Memorial Day > Labor Day.

we often enjoy eating there, especially on opening weekend b/c of the freshness of the oil.

lesson in there somewhere for sure.
