Data pipelining has gotten so fast and efficient, if you want to build an explorer you really don't need to also be doing your own indexing. The big question is then if that indexer you use goes down. You need additional coverage for redundancy. Those tools/protocols are coming in the near future. (we're building one too 😃) But really, seems silly to me that most explorers feel the need to also be in the indexing business. For what? Offload that and focus on improving the explorer's core features and UX.
