Crypto use case: I have a trip this weekend but am going to have to stay one less night than planned. The hotel I booked is 100% non refundable, so I’ll lose that money. If the booking were onchain and transferable, I’m sure I could sell that one night for a few bucks to someone who needs it more than me. Instead I lose $150, a hotel room goes empty for a night, and the hotel would make the same amount either way. These are the types of uses cases this industry was all about, but you don’t see them as much anymore. What happened?

the hotel is 100% non-refundable, but that doesn't mean the room goes unused. if they were on chain for bookings, they'd still be pocketing the unstayed night, there's no way they'd lose that extra revenue

Room’s gonna go unused because I’m not gonna cancel the night if I can’t get my money back And yeah they’ll get the full revenue either way so it would be no loss to them. They only benefit from it not being onchain if I cancel that night
