This tweet and the discourse around it is a good example of how "steak vs kale vs metformin" might actually be a better political chart for bio issues in the 21st century than lib/auth/left/right. https://twitter.com/LPNH/status/1753776356809163261

Normally I find the headlines overly reactionary to the real substance of the legislation or statement, so I dig into the source. This time, no, really, just banning cultivated meat: https://www.myfloridahouse.gov/Sections/Documents/loaddoc.aspx?FileName=_h0435__.docx&DocumentType=Bill&BillNumber=0435&Session=2024

These bills usually incorporate some kind of justification too – this has none. Completely baffling. Why _wouldn't_ you want a perfectly calibrated wagyu steak?

Just lost my reply… Anyway open to lab grown food as long as it doesn’t prevent access to traditional foods. But quality won’t compare for a while. See early results on meat study from BFA > https://www.bionutrient.org/newsletters/bfa-newsletter-10-20-23 And my other response to Vitalik re carbon.

Probably because there is almost no other highly processed, cultured and packaged man-made "food" that is actually good for me and has positive health outcomes long term. I'll continue to take my food like God designed (not some giant "food" company)
