Not necessarily. On public blockchains user data is wide open for siphoning, you can get even better data from web3. This is why privacy preserving chains are the right path forward.

That's true. It's also why I think it'll look materially different in web3. Ideal state, the individual will control who and how advertisers and analytics access their data. And they'll be compensated for it. Current state I agree, it's all wide open and no different.
