Their claims of needing to have "lawful" intercept access to E2EE communications to help thwart crime and sickeningly using the exploitation of children as their justification is common and frankly one that isn't true. As a very infamous example, the FBI has managed time and time again to eliminate propagators of CSAM.

I don't have a source to hand, but I remember reading that a huge amount of CSE material is shared on that notoriously underground and difficult to access platform called 'Facebook'. So maybe they should start there?
