I remember working at CB and how seriously they took listing info and dates being confidential and that acting upon that information was a fireable offense, not to mention possible prosecution. What in the world happened? How has nearly every major base token listing on CB been frontrun so badly?

Exposure to the harsh realities of the present crypto space, employees need to get all the market has taken from them.

I remain under the belief that this is not endemic, but they definitely need to do a complete investigation. Let's be clear about the state of affairs: Base is a centralized L2 and they operate the core infrastructure. They make no affordances to ensure privacy, and their culture of deep metrics collection ensures they have all the analytics in the world they would need to get to the root of this. The front runs aren't happening with forced inclusions at the L1, they have the data.

my opinion of them is going downhill but i still hold confidence through some token balances there and a preferred place to move large amounts of usd in and out of my bank. otherwise they mostly made a bad wallet, the intentions are bad (encouraging tokenizing some random girl off a dating app as a meme), and obviously the whole market thinks they're scuzzy AF when it comes to any token being listed at this point. it kinda sucks but at the same time i just don't care what happens to them or anything like that.. they played a role at one point but that role they played is no longer real or important imo.. i'm probably discounting their legal efforts too much but lets be real all this behavior would have destroyed that 2-3 years ago imo

Although Iโm quite shocked with all the eye around Jesse especially as heโs trying to onboard everyone he overlooks core issues like this, cause it definitely not a minor issue as Iโve lost trust and respect for listings. Same thing happened with $vvv

If the bad actor with access to privileged information has someone they can trust on the outside to do all of this stuff its going to be very difficult to track, even with tons of metrics.
