1/ my knee jerk reaction to “Warpcast isn’t hosting my media & promoting my content? I thought this was decentralized” comment is to assume bad faith but this takes for granted how well thought out and persuasive the perspective @dwr.eth & @v really is

2/ I’d encourage anyone new here who is generally interested in and a fan of decentralization to read @v post on “sufficiently decentralized” and engage with @dwr.eth line of thinking re desoc in good faith https://www.varunsrinivasan.com//2022/01/11/sufficient-decentralization-for-social-networks

3/ the fun part is that good faith discussion happens here every day between thousands of engaged users, developers, founders around trade offs, tactics, technical designs, philosophical positions and you can partake in them and contribute your own ideas into the mix

mostly agree, but I personally draw the line at systems that are not decentralized and yet claim to be farcaster is credibly decentralized due to hubs warpcast is a client which interacts with the credibly decentralized network that's a good balance

💯 I think it’s easy mistake for someone who’s not as familiar with what’s been going on here to miss that distinction and it’s also easy to mistake that for bad faith when it’s more likely a lack of understanding
