How is this drive? How many days should one plan to enjoy it?

I flew into Calgary so the drive is less than two hours and not bad at all- roughly half is through the Canadian Rockies so stunning and you forget how long it's been would not recommend driving from Seattle or Vancouver, I've also done that a few times and it's an absolute slog 5 days is decent for a sampling to see what areas you like and decide if you want to go back and see more of the park. I'm definitely in the latter camp and wish I had made it more like a week and a half so I could get up north into Jasper which sounds very different/remote. Banff was fairly busy and has awesome amenities (which is great!) and I think Jasper would complement that with ruggedness and less tourists. specific recs for Banff - Lake Louise (I'd splurge for Fairmont for a night or two next time) - Moraine Lake - Saddleback Pass - hike to Plain of Six Glaciers Teahouse - Banff upper hot springs were actually cool - Johnston Canyon ran out of characters it's just generally incredible! happy to share more if you're curious
