Should Nouns expect/ encourage people and projects to be active contributors before they submit a candidate or prop? Asking because we're in a race to 0 for mints and treasury.

Is your thinking that >contribs will mean higher mints and therefore higher treasury? Nouns has had loooots of contribs for long time while having a reduced holder base. I agree with the concern tho, and definitely more contribs could help if the right peeps are found

Thinking that an expectation of alignment and commitment will lead to more long term contributors, not necessarily minters. For example, many peeps who have been funded don't take the time to participate in the governance - they just grab funds and dip and we're left hoping for updates. Just like some new holders only show up when they or their close friends want funding. These are extractive patterns. Increased participation could lead to more collab opportunities, and plurality in governance - even of they're not holders, they can still help with the candidate process.
