Having receive ability on your primary line will make things a lot easier, mostly cause you’ll realize a lot of things need SMS 2FA. Source: spent the last month abroad using a data eSIM

Most places in EU at least use WhatsApp though, haven’t needed to call anyone in the month I’ve been here
