My home gym is now a Tempo Studio with all the equipment. I love it for the coaching and workout plans. How do you…know what you’re doing without a coach? Does it come from a history of high school or college athletics or just personal research?

Yeah exactly - I played high school football and started lifting weights when I was 13. I've also done crossfit. If you wanted to get into freeweights, I recommend StrongLifts (great app). I switched to Wendler's 5/3/1 a few months ago which is more of an intermediate program.

I’ll check it out! I chose Tempo because it’s a free weight setup as opposed to something like Tonal which is essentially resistance bands.

DMs are open if you get bored with Tempo and want to try something else. Jim Wendler writes that fitness is 85% discipline and 15% programming. I've tried Tempo and I'm certain you can achieve your desired fitness by doing it.

I've been doing Starting Strength. StrongLifts seems pretty similar. Any reason to recommend one over the other?

They are the 2 to start with and I've heard nothing but good things about SS. I only recommended SL because I've done it myself, and because I think they have a very simple, easy to follow app. But SS will *absolutely* get the job done. welcome to liftcasters.
