I don't share this often, but when @norcalguy asked "What brought you to Photography" it made me think back to my childhood. I had Graves disease (hyperthyroidism), and had my thyroid ablated when I was about 13. I went through a health crisis and even my writing was shaky, and it affected a lot of what I did.... 🧵

My mom currently has Graves disease, it's being controlled currently via medication and has been a journey finding a balance. She has tremors in her hands as well so I completely understand. Thanks for sharing this! Btw I love the stories you tell through your photography 🖤 531 $degen

so glad I shared, wow! It happened to me as a kid which is extremely rare. Discovered it when I nearly had a thyroid storm from a hiking trip in the altitude, ended up in the hospital. Then was severely allergic to the medications making me at one point unable to walk. So ablation was my only option eventually 😭

Glad she's able to control it with medication, I'm stuck on Synthroid for life but I'm grateful it's now under control and a lot better! I still feel like it messed up my writing for life though, I'm not shaky but my writing is horrific... or unless that's an excuse IDK 🤣
