These are very common in Argentina and Uruguay. It is called βempanadasβ. In Brazil we have something similar but it is fried. I didnβt know they were a food from Nigeria as well. So cool!

But pao de queijo is not the same as empanadas. In brasil they are equivalent to pastel.

Ah yeah, you're right. When I lived there, I feel like I never had pastels. Lots of Pao de queijo, misto quente, feijoada, chicken hearts, and other foods. Maybe I didn't but I didn't realize it since I was young.
