the warpcast leaderboard has me reflecting… it was interesting to see the different reactions to the warpcast leaderboard freezing on here for a few days below is a pic from the world championships where we have a live leaderboard throughout the competition! leaderboards in sports add a layer of strategy to athletes and it's crazyyy how it impacts performance some competitors use it as motivation to push harder, some use it to calculate what the bare minimum is they need to make the final 8, while others might let it distract or demotivate them long story short leaderboards and comparison can a good tool but having a strong *intrinsic* motivation is vital for long term and consistent success in whatever it may be!!

👊 People in sports and sports fan will see leaderboards as important. Your cast seems to indicate there was a lot of negative vibe about the leaderboard....after I posted my cast yesterday about people noticing the 'freeze' I was afk all day. I didn't see much reaction.

yes! nah not really negative just saw some comments of some who were eager to see the results and i also noticed i lost some motivation when it froze as im competitive but i just found it interesting 😆

Yeah, I missed it greatly. Not just my rank which it does motivate me for....but also tells us quite a bit about the FC culture in terms of engagement.

yes!! i love stats so find it really interesting also trying to figure out what makes an engaging cast that makes the leaderboard score increase so far my theory is 1. the amount of low fid and maybe those who used to have a power badge accounts which engage with the post similar to early moxie days 2. how much “lore” of the person has been shared previously ( helps for OG accounts and also newer accounts as easier to scroll and see their introduction or their backstory) so if someone with lots of followers casts “ i got a new job! “ but has a. never shared any lore that they were looking for a job b. didnt provide context of what the job is c. didnt have many OG/low fid/ ex power badge users engage they may not get as much engagement so sometimes its not actually about the content of the cast but the context that surrounds it however there are some outliers this is just my observations id love to hear yours

I think it depends on who engage with the cast. If it is big accounts, it will count more. It might be also that the quality of the engagement counts. For example, when it turns into a longer conversation.
