Actually an -infinity to 0 guy. His main talent is a PE type talent on steroids: taking old, ossified industries and rejuvenating them. He is uncanny at exploiting neglected “money on the table” refinements in mature sectors (battery chemistry, welding, cheaper solar) and mature regulatory regimes.

If by 0 to 1 we mean creating a startup from 0 then: 0 to 1 => Zip2, X 0 to 100 => SpaceX 1 to 1000 => Tesla TBD => Twitter

0 to 1 and 1 to 10 but going for true scale is a problem. Tesla, 4 models most haven’t been refreshed in year or sold at scale until late and even that has had issue. Twitter, was at scale and made smaller PayPal / Credit Card once at scale and regulatory compliance need he left and so on. Great ideas on his end.

both. x.com as an internet payments company feels 0 to 1. Zip2, tesla, spaceX, and X all feel 1 to 1000 efforts. The Boring Company could be another 0 to 1.
