Just finished reading this and thoroughly enjoyed it. 

The ecological perspective is useful and apt. 

I just wonder whether there is a meaningful role for crypto in this quest to rewild the internet.

Yeah, crypto is inherently wild, given that its ethos is centred on its permissionless nature. 

Lots of predation/competition/exploitation/deceit within the space as a result—but maybe this is what is needed to create something durable and dynamic and which do not take away agency from users.
