I have to admit that I don’t feel the same fervor for these markets as I once did. In my naive worldview as a younger market participant, I was driven by ideology. I believed we were building the future of finance. Every ATH was a step closer to achieving a utopian future where finance was democratized and transparently distributed — accessible by all. As the very entities we sought to unseat laid their claim to the market we once knew and those I once believed to be ideologues became enamored by the possibilities of a future driven by institutional capitalism, I knew that dream had died. Now, I sit here watching the numbers tick upwards once again. Enjoying the freedom this space has provided me. But missing some small part of me that seems to have long since burned out.
