General travel. 

I’m 45 mins from NYC so ideally a laptop bag + can support an overnight or two. 

I do want one of those luggage straps so it can strap onto my luggage at an airport.

I have the peak design 45L which is solid, you could probably go with the smaller version (30L) if it’s for weekend-length trips. Only thing I don’t like is that the straps aren’t the most comfortable if you load it up heavy.

Also look at the Aer travel pack 3, or maybe Tom Binh
