So let me preface this with "your coin; your rules" so this all certainly your call @betashop.eth re: /moxie but this seems a bit hasty. I've found that carrots tend to work better than sticks. So regarding this "we feel that $250 in rewards is a generous amount after which to require everyone to play in the system in order to continue earning," which on its face isn't unreasonable except some people have actually put in funds to support the experiment but are likely being swept up into this. No idea where I am in regards to rewards and haven't received this notice yet BUT I couldn't actually claim my airdrop when moxie first launched so I put in 1 eth of my own funds so that I could support the project and buy some fan tokens etc. (continued in replies)

i’ll be a little more blunt. i couldn’t be more bearish moxie. this is just one of several cascading moves that don’t appear to be in alignment with the stated goals, and quite frankly, goes against the crypto ethos of individual autonomy. making impromptu willy nilly changes after people just locked up tokens for months (and in cases like yours, spent significant amounts of money) in a show of support feels … what’s the word … icky. and +1 the comms are giving defensive iron fist.

It’s not great. Think alternative ways to qualify - with LP or locking the fan tokens in your portfolio would make sense. If folks don’t mint fan tokens just burn the % that would go to their followers so you aren’t rewarded for not having a fan token. Ultimately sentiment shifted pretty hard over the past couple of weeks as maxi v moxie hit the timeline. Comms are good for folks who attend the community calls yet less so for the other missives. My opinion > communicating via updates on Farcaster is not a good way to keep info clear over time. Better to write in paragraph or white paper format noting changes etc so folks can one click find updates easily. Farmers have locked tens of thousands in LP and stake fan tokens because they value those benefits and have done the ROI math. That’s not the answer on its own.

Brix the voice of reason. I just don’t think every single person wants a Fan Token, fundamentally. That choice should be valid. I feel weird being forced to do that just to stay involved. The second order effects to the downside seem to outweigh whatever short-term upside there is from less sell. I think the Locking mechanism was fairest and could be scaled. If I had to Lock 100% of my Everyday Rewards for 3 months as a “non-player” it is better than this.
