Greta Thunberg is right, protecting our one and only precious home, Earth from environmental collapse and catastrophe is the existential issue of our time, not a partisan political position and shouldn't be at odds but rather dovetails with technological acceleration (nuclear, desalination, alternative energy).

i think considering nuclear in 2024 is way different than 1970 and hopefully we've figured out how to mitigate the downsides.

O def, lmfao it's silly to think fossil fuel is the only way, I mean iirc you're from south louisana, you know what's going on down there environmentally, it sure af ain't substantial by any means of the imagination

My shift on nuclear over the last two decades, probably one of the biggest changes I wouldn’t have anticipated as a younger adult. Still has storage issues and old designs are sometimes suss, yet hard to imagine if you are worried about carbon, that you aren’t including nuclear as part of the solution.

people were right to be dubious about nuclear. chernobyl almost poisoned the water supply for millions, forever. i think we're there with the tech now re design issues. storage still remains an issue.

Yeah storage is always going to be a huge issue, but I think if we actually focused research and shit we could atleast figure some cool shit out
