Greta Thunberg is right, protecting our one and only precious home, Earth from environmental collapse and catastrophe is the existential issue of our time, not a partisan political position and shouldn't be at odds but rather dovetails with technological acceleration (nuclear, desalination, alternative energy).

big blind spot is that so many folks are too young to remember how fucked up cities were before the EPA and take a lot of environmental progress for granted. cities totally engulfed by smog, toxic water, a whole generation poisoned by lead. the EPA regulations do currently hold a lot of progress back and need updating big time, the solution to this is to get engaged and give a damn!

Just like the solution to bad government is better government, not no government. The solution to bad regulation is better regulation, not no regulation.

The idea that environmental protection and technological progress are at odds is outdated. In fact, innovation in areas like nuclear power, renewable energy, and even carbon capture can work hand-in-hand with efforts to safeguard the planet.
