Haven't looked it up in a long time but when I did research on it in school, Toyotas were the #1 most American car brand by how many of the parts were made and assembled in the USA. If they want to spark competition they should just remove the tariffs, if the American companies had to compete with BYD they'd change a lot of practices for the better and we'd get cheaper better cars.

Wrote cash for clunkers and then Covid. American cars were so poorly made. I thought they had done a lot to come back. But also. So dumb. Big cars for vast space vs whatever is available space wise in Europe and Japan. Also: they make work trucks. We make 150k entertainment behemoths (that can also work) We own a Yukon. It’s huge.

And we dont use american cars because consume too much gasoline and its expensive as fuck, compared to america😂 (We do have lots of teslas around tho)
