7/ I woke up this morning with this thought in my head. They may be old hat, I don’t know, but I felt compelled to get them in writing and out there. I think and hope there might be a grain of originality here and asking for comment is a way to test.

6/ Think of the monk who meditates so much they become austere and lose the joy in life. Or the person who practices self love and becomes narcissistic.

5/ This is a trap where it’s easy for us to think we are being enlightened but our mind is actually controlling us rather than serving us.

4/ There is danger here though. We are also prone to over optimising use of mindsets. They are tools, and when we get good at using a tool we have to guard against using it when other tools we are less comfortable with would be better.

3/ These are all tools for bringing our mind under control. The ones we need most depend on our individual situation. Where is our mind serving us least well?

You are right. Certificates of authenticity is more accurate. I was trying to ground the concept in the normality of every day life, but I’m not sure it helped!!

A luxury watch exchange, a luxury car manufacturer, a bicycle retailer, a bicycle manufacturer, some sports memorabilia companies. That’s some of them. I shouldn’t name names, but that gives you a flavour.

Verifying ChatGPT is accurate is fertile ground for startups. Or perhaps it is taking the output of ChatGPT (or Large Language Models generally) and updating it so it is correct. Or showing where it needs some human input. The startups would be vertically focused bringing expertise and perhaps data to the equation.

It could be used to show clout. Farcaster would probably show my LV receipt-NFT by default. But I think the more interesting use case is to prevent fraud when items are sold on.

Exactly. The idea is to build a web2-web3 bridge. Receipts are minted on chain, viewable in Metamask etc, but also via a web2 login for people who don’t have a wallet. From a brand perspective it gives you a permanent link with the customer for giveaways, servicing etc.

An on chain record that verifies you bought the item - but only when you want it to, eg when you sell it. Privacy is required because most people won’t want others to see what they’ve bought.

Hey folks - I'm new here. Hello from the UK :) I'm thinking about NFTs as receipts - mass market play. Lots of interest from brands. Not sure the customer experience is ready yet. Would love thoughts.
