Looking to take a Product Design crash course (using Figma). Anywhere from 10-40 hours of content+coursework. Any ideas? For context: I am an engineer, I've worked casually in Figma, don't have any formal design training

Figma has good resources for learning how to use the tool itself, that's what I used. Learning how to design well (regardless of tool) takes way more time and I am quite bad π

You have to separate problem-solving from decoration (that's Jeffrey Veen, not me lol) To that end 1 - play around in Figma until you can create an ugly, but interactive prototype (tutorials are great) 2 - read up on UX principles and examples If you grab a 20 from cal.com/antimofm I'll help with the 1st

A good exercise for new designers is to take a well designed product and reconstruct it from scratch. First try to do it without overlaying, and then overlay to see where your eye is lacking and appreciate the nuances that make them strong.

I would suggest joining a 10k/100k design cohort or a design community based course to learn. Itβs easy to master the basics and learn the principles but real progress happens only when you iterate, get feedback from other pros and are constantly trying new things.

@antimofm.eth or @esdotge might be able to point you in the right direction. I'd repost this in the f\design and see if any folks who are across that universe can offer a smarter response than mine! π§βπ¨
