I think the #1 main difference is still:

~Band tee~
I can wear it, people see it, people comment on it, I feel cool wearing it

~NFT in my wallet~
hidden away in an infinitely large digital folder where visibility is very low, and I don’t feel cool having it if I never see it / am reminded of it

IMO it needs to take over the linktree spot to surface it enough

we're trying to do a better job surfacing the latter

some NFTs mean more to you than others- you should have a place to showcase them, and your friends could notice / comment / make you feel cool

that makes sense to me. i think that similarly means that there just aren't that many people in the current ecosystem that you care about.

there's certainly an existing universe of people where that visibility is sufficient, it's just very small and niche
