does light have anything to do with mitochondrial disorder?

It would be very interesting to see how light exposure affects mitochondria.

I don't know much about that. But the powerhouse of plant cells, chloroplasts, are obviously heavily dependent on light.

Mitos are so important--hundreds to thousands in every cell--and sunlight is so important, that I got to imagine there are direct interactions, and you'd be able to do at-home experiments and see impacts using a microscope.

Those are my initial off the cuff thoughts (mostly ignorance) and now I will be going and reading whats been published on this and looking at any experimental data I can find.
