Suggestion To Improve Rewards Algo *** Build Up Farcaster Upper-Middle Class Not a complaint--true suggestion. We are seeing casts about 'points freezing.' I think there's an issue. (more in thread) But I think there's a connected & bigger issue: The algo doesn't love the upper-middle class of FCers Algo rightly weights OGs/auto-follows (Maybe too much, but np) Algo also is great for newcomers as we've seen 10-12 times in the top10 (Love it!) BUT, a lot of great FCers are in the 2K-15K & not OG/auto-follow. They are, however, some of the most thoughtful, discerning, engaging FCers. You can see the algo doesn't love or often like them. I can get numerous r/c, comments, likes from them & get no points from them on a 'good' cast. On others I can get similar Middle class action & get a couple interactions from OG/AF types & get numerous points all from the OG/AFs. I love Rewards & benefit from it. Thanks for the feedback. Varun already shared the stuck score issue which we can iterate on. 1. What does it mean the "algo doesn't love"? They aren't in the top 500, i.e. scoring, or they are just further down the scoreboard? 2. Do you have a list of users you think are being penalized (explicitly or implicitly)? 3. Do you have examples of casts?

Great FCers, good/great engagement for size of account: @hankmoody (finishes top 50-100, look at his work and engagement, I never seem to earn Reward pts for his r/c, comment, etc @3irka.eth @girl-ua (both like hank building community, good engagement, I never seem to earn Reward from their interacton) 2. Then great FCers with great content & I understand engagement is much lower, but still part of my suggestion. (I understand from your side, you could say they need better engagement. I get it). @arjantupan @jdotfinn @danicaswanson I could get more, but let's start there... (For frens tagged here if you don't know why... I'm saying you are examples great FCers that are underrated in the Rewards algo, see above for context)

Thanks for the tag. I doubt I'll ever become the sort of caster who attracts a lot of engagement, so if that's the primary measure of underrated casters then I'll probably stay underrated forever... lol. That's fine tho, since I do my best work behind the scenes rather than in the spotlight, and I try to optimize for depth rather than breadth. Also, I don't have all the context here since I don't track my score closely and wasn't aware of some of these patterns, but I agree directionally with what you've written and I do sometimes get the sense that the algo doesn't "like" me. Dear Bradq, I really appreciate you taking the time to do this. I really feel honored by the way you see what I do here at FC, it is a privilege to always have your support. I thank you from the bottom of my heart 🫶. Honestly, I don't have much idea of how the algorithm works. I just have in mind to be genuine and connect with as many people as possible and provide a space for others to do so as well, and that this virtuous circle is never broken. Thank you for the support and for all the information, which is very valuable to learn!

Thanks for the mention, Brad. Much appreciated. Will check the accounts you mention and that were not on my radar. Maybe that helps. I finished in the top200 for the rewards this time. That is nice, and I see a lot of great casters above me. I primarily want to use the engagement to help the accounts and content of my niche /poetry) get more attention.
