i think it really depends on the job, but i see your point!

Shouldn’t that be the same logic for other industries with tipping?

If you can get $20 a day on tips that is a chunky pay raise in itself for doing your existing job well, rather than having to do new responsibilities

I’d like this option in addition to reviews. 

Sometimes I don’t want it in the hands of the employer— what if I value that they took extra time with me because of a human reaching out to another human with kindness — insert manager that only values time as a metric of $$, manager-man won’t kick back anything to the employee because he had the sale and wasted the time.
