The last few times I’ve flown long haul, I’ve started to get a really bad headache as the flight hits its cruising altitude it then generally persist throughout the flight but goes almost immediately after the plane lands. Any recs for what I can do or take to stop it or at least make it manageable?

Are you generally sensitive to altitude in mountainous areas? Given the pressurization of airplanes can simulate 8000 feet, sounds like you might be. What have you tried and what has helped, if anything?

I didn’t think I was and hadn’t been in the past but since starting to travel again more frequently I’ve noticed it. I’ve tried ibuprofen which did seem to work and drinking lots of fluids. Was mostly wondering if there were more natural remedies

If that’s the only symptom you have noticed, my guess is that it’s a mixture of dehydration and altitude sensitivity. Short of moving some place at altitude and giving your body time to adjust, I’m not sure. Magnesium might be worth a try. Would probably look around for supplements or natural remedies for altitude sensitivity or altitude sickness. IANAD 😅
