wtf is going on with the air industry this is actually insane $170 US extra for this on a $200 flight my parents just booked a flight also where they would have to pay $200pp extra if they wanted their pair of tickets to be together on a flight and not split up…

Airlines barely break even usually on business class or first class They usually lose money on economy These days they mostly make their money on premium economy and seat upgrades believe it or not

my son and i flew together recently and we're talking about all the expenses for airlines and how is it even possible for them to be profitable, but also we don't want to pay more...

it's wild eh i think from psychology perspective, it would be better to just increase the floor price - i'd rather just pay $350 for a ticket and see that as the whole "ticket" than pay $200 and be nickle and dimed for a bunch of perks that used to be included in the ticket price but then that precludes other folks from flying who can afford $200 but not $250... ugh
