gm, most of the health advice on the internet is harmful e.g., "don't use sunscreen" or "avoid fluoride in toothpaste" first leads to skin cancer, second leads to more cavities whenever someone is trying to give you health advice, ask for peer reviewed research

The sunscreen one deserve more nuance though. Sun is very good for you, there is a balance between sun exposure and protection

ffs there is no nuance no sunblock is 100% effective whatever good parts there are, they get through the sunscreen without the risk of cancer

Huh no the wavelengths that are used to produce vitamin D are the same ones blocked by sunscreen. If you are scared of the sun and cover your skin all the time you do miss out on healthy UV rays that have all sorts of health benefits

ffs it's literally *one google query* away, *educate* yourselves, stop believing bs from the internet > There is little evidence that sunscreen decreases 25(OH)D concentration when used in real-life settings, suggesting that concerns about vitamin D should not negate skin cancer prevention advice. bit.ly/3O88ymu

Experimental studies confirm what I said Observational studies all look terrible and the ones that do control for sun exposure show a red. in vit D You can get vitamin D though other means than sun, and vitamin D is not what makes you healthy, it's the sun. The bullshit I read on the internet is up there โ˜๏ธ

the correct way to respond to a peer-reviewed meta-study is a newer or larger peer-reviewed meta-study otherwise, you're just pushing your opinion to not appear wrong sometimes you're wrong, and adults usually admit and move on but you can't you go to the list of muted users enjoy unrestricted uv and consequences!

must they be wrong and you be right? I personally agree with @loracle.eth โ€˜s view and believe that some sun exposure without sunscreen is good each day. so, why must they admit to something that they have an opinion on, that others share, just for you to assume the position of right?

when talking health there is no place for opinions, only facts and research; whoever disagrees is not educated enough on the amount of cases when "opinions over data" caused worldwide suffering
