There's no info about what kind of encryption they use, and the messenger itself isn't open source. Guessing from their repos that are open source, they're using ECDH, which works only for direct messages, or requires N-1 copies of a message for a group size of N, and lacks a lot of the security benefits in advanced communication encryption schemes. I am wary of messengers that tout security with no exposed code, hopefully they'll revisit that
