Bonds always end up getting paid by one way or another. Seems fine for the temporary period of time where were finance is off-chain.

It's a good question. I don't have an answer but I did have a thought. Maybe it's time to expand the borders? Would one of their top trading partners going belly up unexpectedly provide an opening for such a move? Especially if it's a friendly partner with lots of resources? Just spitballing.
