After two years of studying Anthropology, I’ve noticed major flaws in the current scientific research system everytime I have to write a paper for uni. • Journal paywalls limiting access to knowledge • Big biases influencing studies and theories that are not mainstream • Inefficient peer-to-peer collaboration • Broken funding models I believe all this impacts on how we make scientific advancements. I’m considering building a Git-based Diamond Open Access platform for scientific research. I'm imagining it as a GitHub-like platform where researchers can work iteratively and publish findings using Markdown, LaTeX, and Typst, for easier collaboration. And relay on technologies like Arweave, IPFS, Blockchain, and zero-knowledge proofs to provide solutions to many of the problems. I’ve been taking notes about this idea for weeks now. Thinking about applying to an accelerator next year to bring it to life 👀

It is going to be hard, as technical solutions cannot fix what is essentially a social problem

Indeed, this is a problem in which the tech solution is just a tiny part of the steps to solve it
