It's really underrated how 4 years ago the worst ethereum UX problem was that transactions would often take like 10 min to confirm if you get unlucky with the gasprice, and that problem just completely went away with EIP-1559. I feel like off-chain ZK applications are really undervaluing the potential of just using STARKs, including for privacy-demanding use cases. These days a STARK is < 100 kB, for off-chain use cases that amount of bandwidth is utterly trivial compared to the client-side prover time savings that come from using STARKs.

Blockchain is a decentralized database that is used to store and transmit information without any central authority or intermediary. It was developed in 2008 by Satoshi Nakamoto as the core technology of the Bitcoin cryptocurrency. A blockchain is a network of nodes (participants) that store a copy of the entire blockchain. Each block contains encrypted information about transactions made in the system, as well as an indication of the previous block. This connection between blocks creates a continuous chain, hence the name "blockchain". One of the key benefits of blockchain is its security. Changing information in one block requires changing all subsequent blocks, which is almost impossible to do without control over the majority of network nodes. This makes the blockchain resistant to manipulation and falsification.
