I wish the community had never adopted "Web3" as a replacement buzzword for "crypto" It communicates nothing more, yet invites even more charlatans And crypto is a fundamentally different concept than any iteration of the World Wide Web It's limiting to frame crypto this way

Web3 as a term went viral. I don't mind the controversy or the fact that the term is not exactly a glove fitting a hand. I do appreciate the millions of ppl who joined the conversation on Twitter and the attention it garnered.

when i hear crypto, i think more cryptocurrencies and defi when i hear web3, i think more of the larger ecosystem of tech and apps that are being built, that relate to blockchains (NFTs, social apps, DAOs, etc.) curious what others think

Naming is really important. I don't have a strong opinion on Web3 vs crypto but I think that it is definitely that people should think more about

I think web3 is a brilliant rebrand to include more people who had previously a negative view of crypto. Have you listened to ben evan’s podcast where he buckets web1,2,3? A great one

Crypto is to Web3 what Ajax was to Web2 All those words go away and are replaced by just “websites” and “companies” and “apps”
