What’s new or different about memecoins this cycle?

I think people aren’t pretending the memecoins are going to become something bigger. There used to be this narrative of “building a community” or “utility for something” but now people have accepted that many of them are just a transient moment of speculation. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it is hard to sustain long term consumer interest and growth
