Both Reddit and X hiveminds are generally negative. The exceptions are subreddits or niche X communities that don’t surface much to the mainstream That said, X users actually wield power and can channel their negativity into action, whereas Redditors are mostly impotent I suspect that’s why X feels more toxic as a whole

Fb and insta networks have less breadth because they center around your irl network On X you keep your identity and go global On Reddit you lose your identity and go global but insight is “Reddit local” is more calm - ie. cozy corners

yeah i've seen that on niche intersets of mine like ai art or whatever where subreddits can be still cozy corners twitter is too interconnected for that the subreddits walls and unique moderation of each channel help to the multi-flavour of reddit but haven't visited much later either tbh
