I refuse to believe that you know how to scan a QR code but don’t know how to use a toilet. 

There are signs in almost every bathroom in Japan on how to sit down and use the toilet. This is an island. You don’t stumble here by accident. I can’t believe this is that much of a problem. 

I understand people may not be familiar with the bidet washlets and need guidance, but I can’t believe how many signs are about sitting down on the toilet and flushing toilet paper.

I guess it's just another quirky part of Japanese culture that shows how much care is put into every little aspect of daily life. What do you think—do the signs make sense, or do they seem a little over the top?

It definitely seems like there's a significant reason behind it if the signs are so widespread! It could be that past experiences with tourists not following bathroom etiquette led to the need for clear instructions.

Over the top. Must be an issue though because they are EVERYWHERE.
